About vocational exams and key competences – meeting with the Polish WorldSkills team and experts from the Central Examination Board

On the 28th of November 2019, a joint meeting between WorldSkills team of Poland, experts of the Central Examination Board, and Fundacja Rozwoju Systemu Edukacji (FRSE) took place. The event was devoted to discussion about the strengths and weaknesses of the Polish vocational examinations system, also in the context of the development of transversal key competences. The discussion was led by the representative of the TRACK-VET project, Horacy Dębowski who also informed participants about recent changes in the structure of VET exams in Poland and that they will relate to a larger extent to personal and social competences. Representatives of the Polish WorldSkills team presented how the assessment during WorldSkills contest is organised – what tasks must be fulfilled during the competition within different professions, what skills are required to fulfill these tasks, what are the assessment criteria which are taken into account by the experts who are rating learners performance.
